MV AGUSTA DOMINATES WINNING 4 FROM 4 AT BEARS - Rd 1 Tuesday February 27, 2007
Privateer MV Agusta team, Aluma-lite Racing totally dominated the first round of the BEARS National Series held in extremely hot conditions at Broadford, Victoria on Saturday and Sunday, February 24/25, 2007. Team rider John Allen piloted the new F4 1000 R in stock trim with RG3 silencers onto pole as well as winning the 2 races by a clear margin on the Saturday. Sunday’s form continued with another display of total dominance with another 2 wins.
Allen owned the track in the Formula 1 class amongst a field of Ducati’s and posted two lap records over the weekend, breaking the existing 2005 record held by Steve Cutting of 59.5 seconds, slashing it down to 59.3 seconds.
Team Manager, Derek Williams commented, “The bike is stock except for the RG 3 silencers and we’re even still running the original fork oil and brake pads. Aluma-lite racing has made some minor adjustments to make this good bike even better. The lap record could have come down even further but the high winds forced us to back off a little.”
The next event for Aluma-lite Racing is Round 2 of the BEARS National Series at Mt Gambier, South Australia during the Easter break.
