Brendan Clarke clean sweeps the Broc Parke’s Cup and East Coast Series
 Riding his ground-breaking MV Agusta F41000R, Brendan Clarke kicked the weekend off with an intimidating pole position in Saturday’s Broc Parke’s Cup at Sydney’s Oran Park on May 19-20.
“I’m stoked to put the MV on pole,” said an elated Clarke. “Especially, seeing as we didn’t have any practice time due to rain on Friday. I basically headed out there with the bike set-up for QLD raceway, and felt pretty comfortable on it (the bike) from the get-go.”
For the short, six-lap race Clarke stamped his authority, smoking the field for
his first victory of the weekend.
“The Parke’s Cup race is really short, at only six laps. So I really had to put my head down from the start and make the most of it. I’m lucky the bike was working so good with the settings we had, but we still came away with some valuable info for the next days racing. I’m pumped to take the win, and even more stoked for the team.”
Sundays racing commenced round-three of the Macarthur Mercedes Benz East Coast Series, with yet another great start for Clarke and the MV Team.
 “Sunday was great!” beamed Clarke. “We went away Saturday night and changed a few things on the bike. From the moment I took to the track, the bike felt brilliant.”
Things must have been working the right way for Clarke as he sped to yet another pole position, and a double race victory!
“The way we had the bike working, I was just so comfortable. It’s a double bonus as we have Willow Bank Raceway coming up, and the set-up required for there is hard to get right. The way we had the bike set-up here will be a great starting point for Willow Bank as they are somewhat similar.
To add icing to the already impressive cake, Clarke wound the day out with a new lap record.
“Come race two, I was really getting settled and finding a good pace. I came in to find that I had set a new lap record, which I was pretty happy about. A big thanks to everyone in the team for their efforts this weekend.”
Brendan now has a commanding points lead in the East Coast Series with nine wins from nine starts.
Also flying the MV Agusta Racing flag, Craig Trinder had an impressive day taking the second spot on the podium in the British European Road Racing Series on his race-prepped MV Agusta Brutale 910R.
